About this Scan

A pelvic ultrasound uses sound waves to image the organs in the lower abdomen and pelvis. It is frequently used to evaluate the reproductive organs, bladder, and prostate gland.

Preparation & Guidelines

• A full bladder is essential.
• Drink plenty of water before the scan and do not empty your bladder until instructed.
